Make sure all retro-reflectors are fitted, clean, and functioning (not cracked or broken).

To start shift mode on a digital tachograph, insert the driver card into slot 1, navigate the menu to select starting location (country), confirm with 'OK', and switch rest mode to work/drive mode to open the working day. Upon shift completion, stop the vehicle, turn off the engine (automatically switching mode to rest), select ending location (country), confirm with 'OK', and close the working day. For multi-driver crews, insert the second driver's card into slot 2.
